Built for Brooklyn's Kingsborough Houses, these 35 sculptures form a heritage walk as part of a cultural revitalization project centered around the restoration of a historic 1938 frieze by Harlem Renaissance artist Richmond Barthé. Workshops were held with residents to collect stories about how people came to Kingsborough Houses, and those tales, combined with the poems and images of local teens dancing were used for the text and stencils on the sculptures.
